Bio (brief version): An asshole, plain and simple (do I need to put it in bold?). But if you want the long story, here you have it. With his age, accompanied by decades of solitude in his youth, came a callous, cold disposition and a sick sense of humor. He' s an expert at illusion and puppeteering, a sadistic nutcase with a twisted vendetta against Rondun, and Darius's personal Advisor. He and Rondun have an old history with one another, a childhood the other remembers very differently but one that Marrinus resents all the same. Unfortunately for him, Darius was quick to catch word of his ties to the Dailian Elite and not only rein him in for questioning a few years after he joined the Darkblood cause, but tie him down to Velocifiero by giving him the position of an Advisor. Now he's lucky to get something as simple as recon to let him get out and explore anything beyond that region of West Rendali.

Twi came into Marrinus's care after an order from Linx, to watch over the pup he had stumbled upon in the woods, had him babysitting the blind runt as a life sentence. Hilarious to Linx and anyone else able to witness the coldblooded creep actually rearing a child, it brought back a ton of uneasy old memories of taking care of younger group members in his youth. Because of this, he'll catch himself between moments of manipulative caring, and extreme cruelty towards her. Something extremely hazardous when Twi reached her adolescence and the idea of young males stealing his "property" from him became a possibility.

Anyway, the guy loves getting into confrontations with other Shinlai when he can. Skinny and small for a male, he's not the tank of a Shinlai many would be intimidated by, but because of the type of dark elemental he is, he works his slim look to his advantage. Using long ranged illusions to break the minds of his targets before moving in for the kill. Puppeteer is a skill he saves for special occasions, but he never gives up the opportunity to flex his creativity in conjuring up disgustingly creative horror shows for his victims.

Marrinus's horns are usually always soaked in a potent layer of poison. That's how they get the reddish sheen around their edges. In other words, don't get too close (I bet it smells lovely). He gets the poison from Miera, it's long lasting, and he has a bit of a compulsive need to freshen the coating on a weekly basis.

Poor Marri has been in need of a makeover for a long time. His last ref had him so dark because of my old monitor being trash, but I’m pretty sure it was partially me being contrast challenged… I still freak out over what stuff looks like on other screens~
